Helen Marian Terranova, age 92, passed away October 14th, 2024, at her home in Cleveland, Tennessee. Born on December 25th, 1931, in Bronx, New York to Eugene and Anne McMachan. Helen lived a life marked by her dedication to her family, friends and her community.
A graduate of Saint Charles Borromeo School in Brooklyn, New York, Helen was known for her sharp mind and compassionate spirit. She dedicated many years to her career as a bookeeper where she was appreciated for her meticulousness and reliability.
Helen was a member of Saint Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Cleveland, TN, her faith was the cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and solace.
Helen was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to opera, and was passionate about history and genealogy, often sharing fascinating stories and facts with her family and friends.
Helen was the beloved matriarch of her family, remembered for being sweet, compassionate and fiercely protective.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Alvarez, her grandchildren, Marisa Akins, Danielle and Eileen Schiebel; and great grandchildren, Bryson and Stella McCroskey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Vito) Terranova, her daughter, Catherine Schiebel and her brother, John McMachan.
A service to celebrate Helen's life will be held at St Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church on Friday, January 10th at 11:00.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions in Helen's memory can be made to Calvary Hospice Hospital in Bronx, New York, a cause very close to her heart. Helen's legacy of love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
