Obituary
Helen Dimple Hill. 92, a lifelong resident of Ooltewah went to sleep and awoke in her heavenly home on Thursday night, July 19, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in Apison, TN on August 2, 1919 a daughter of the late James Stafford and Mae Stafford Akers. Helen was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Johns Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, yard work and taking special pride in her flower gardens. She also spent many hours assisting her children and grandchildren with their children. Her family was a great treasure to her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Ruail Hill, one son Ruail Hill Jr., one grandson Ronnie Ledford, step father Cliff Akers, two sisters Ruby Armstrong and Deatt Langston, three brothers Odell Akers, Lloyd Stafford, and Lenard Akers.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, four daughters Eunice Turner of Ooltewah, TN, Sara Bethune of Ooltewah, TN, Irene Ledford (Leroy) of McDonald, TN, and Reba Robinson of Ooltewah, TN, two brothers James “Bill” Stafford of Ooltewah, TN and C. L. Akers of Ringgold, GA, thirteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren, several great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
A funeral service is planned for Sunday, July 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Johns Memorial Baptist Church located at 5110 McDonald Road, McDonald, TN 37403 with the Reverend James Lance officiating. Interment will follow in the Plowman Cemetery in Apison, TN with grandsons and nephews serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Saturday night, July 21, 2012 at Johns Memorial Baptist Church from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Sunday one hour prior to the service.
The family wishes to thanks and acknowledge the wonderful care and support given to them by Cindy, Jeff, Leah, Teresa, Mary Ann, Donna, the entire staff of Hospice of Chattanooga and a special friend Peggy during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Chattanooga in Ms. Helen’s memory.
