Obituary
Harvey Allen Bolin, 90, a resident of Cleveland died on Thursday afternoon, February 7th, 2013 in a Rhea County health care facility with his loving wife of 56, Carleen by his side. Harvey was born on December 2, 1922 in Oregon City, Oregon a son of the late George and Harriett Bolin. Harvey had made Cleveland his home for the past twenty seven plus years. He was a member of the Collegedale Community Seventh-day Adventist Church. Harvey was a veteran of the United States Navy and received the Philippine Liberation Medal and also the World War II Victory Medal for his service. Harvey enjoy mountain climbing and was a member of the Mountaineers Club having climbed several mountains such as Mount Rainier and Mount St Helens and many other major peeks in the pacific North West. Harvey was also the editor for many years of the Religious Liberty newsletter for his church. He was instrumental in the building the first Advent Home in Calhoun Tennessee and also the first section of the school there. Harvey also served on the board of the Advent Home for many years.
In addition to his parent Harvey is preceded in death by one sister Yvonne Burnhan.
Harvey leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Carleen, one daughter Jo Grace of Tacoma, WA, four sons Steven Bolin of Montana, Carl Allen Bolin, Andrew Victor Bolin, and Matthew Egan Bolin, one granddaughter Sierra Brooke Bolin, and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Sunday, February 10, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the Bowman Hills Seventh-day Adventist Church located at 300 Westview Drive in Cleveland, TN with Pastor Jerry Arnold and Pastor Dwight Herod officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the 3:00 PM service time.
Interment will take place on Monday, February 11th, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the Chattanooga Nation Cemetery with military honors.
