Harry William Boyd Sr., 71, a resident of McDonald, TN passed away peacefully on Friday evening, February 24th, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Harry was born in Long Beach, CA on October 5th, 1945 a son of the late Samuel & Esther Boyd. At the age of three, his family relocated to Arizona when he lived until young adulthood where he met and married his loving wife Linda. In 1969, they moved to Tennessee and have lived here ever since. He retired from the Heath Consultants Inc. in 2011. Harry was a member of First Baptist Church in Cleveland where he was very active. He was a substitute teacher for the Beecher Hunter’s Sunday School Class, worked in the preschool department and helped his friends with custodial work at the church. Most of all, he will be remember for being a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded by one sister Nancy Stewart.
Harry leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Linda Ware Boyd, one son Bill Boyd and his wife Leigh Ann, daughters Rachel Boyd and Kacy Boyd, one granddaughter that was the light of his life Hannah Leigh Boyd, two sisters Mary Ann Huggins and Jenny Bashore (Chuck), two brothers Mike Boyd (Wanda) and Pat Boyd, numerous other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Monday evening, February 27th, 2017 at 7:30 PM in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN with the Reverend Rusty Asbel and the Reverend Tom Wickes officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 PM until the 7:30 PM service time in the funeral home parlor.
The interment and committal service will take place on Tuesday morning, February 28th, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the Lee Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
