Hal Younger Roe, 85, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. He is the loving husband of Andy Roe and father of two children, Ann Younger and Tommy Roe. He was born on September 16, 1939, in Memphis, TN to the late Halie & Thelma Roe. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Tennessee Wesleyan in Athens, TN.
On August 21, 1962, Hal married Andrea (Andy) Cooper at the First Methodist Church in Sevierville, TN. They then moved to Ripley, TN. After two years in Ripley, they moved to Covington, TN where he ran the family jewelry store for ten years. They then moved back to Sevierville for fifteen years.
He started a business Bradley Rentals in Cleveland, TN where he still worked until his death. He was active in many areas - Boys and Girls Club, Rotary, Chamber of Commerce and others including the Broad Street Methodist Church. He was president of the American Rental Association which was a wonderful honor as he traveled the United States. Hal loved sports, especially the UT Vols football, basketball and baseball teams.
The funeral service will be on Friday, October 4, 2024, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:30 PM until the 3:00 PM service time in the St. Luke's Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial in Hal's memory may be made to either St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Broad Street Methodist Church or the charity of your choice.
