Gwendean Pell

January 21, 1936 — March 25, 2024

Gwendean Pell, a beacon of warmth and wisdom, passed away on March 25, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family in her hometown of Cleveland, Tennessee. Gwen won the battle over cancer and now joins our Lord God in heaven to celebrate the victory.

Born to Mary Hill Beard and Lon Burl Parton, Gwen's life was a tapestry of dedication, love, and hard work.

Gwen married the love of her life, Isaac R. Pell, Jr., in a ceremony that reflected their shared values and extended them into her family and children.

For over twenty years, Gwen's hard work at Collins Manufacturing Company was evident to all who knew her.

Her life outside work was rich with the simple pleasures she cherished. She was an avid quilt maker, baker, storyteller, card player and book reader. Gwen always found a way to balance her family, work and hobbies, with the priority of putting the Lord first.

Gwen's legacy is woven through the fabric of her handmade quilts, famous chocolate gravy and biscuits, stories of her childhood and the overwhelming love for her family.

Gwen is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her son Terry Allen Pell, her brother Lonnie Parton, and her sisters Jerri Singleton, Barbara Gates, and Anne Sneed. Gwen's spirit is carried forward by her beloved daughter, Deborah Sue Brown (Gerald Brown); her grandchildren, Christopher Brown, Candie Brown and Christel Brown Hudgins. Her great grandchildren, Whitney Ballard, Jared Brown, Kaylee Cansler, Tanner Brown, and Eli Brown. Her sister, Judy Lyles of Bonita Springs, Florida, along with a community and church of friends, also survived her.

Gwen's life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, the lives she touched, and the love she shared. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will bloom eternally in the hearts of those she has left behind.
