Grace E. Golden

Obituary
Grace Golden, 99, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 5, 2015 at Life Care Center of Cleveland. She was born on November 4, 1915 in Cherokee County, Georgia to A.K. and Ruby Fowler Wheeler. The family moved to Cleveland in 1926.
She became a Christian at an early age and joined North Cleveland Church of God in 1932. She was the oldest living member of her church. She played the piano and organ for many years in the regular church services. Her life was an example of how to live a Christian life everyday. She was the manager of the Campus Post Office at Lee College and retired with 28 years of service. Her kind, caring and Christian spirit touched the lives of hundreds of students and many of them have kept in contact with her throughout the years. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. Preceeding her in death are her parents A.K. and Ruby Wheeler; her husband, Marvin Golden and son, Elwyn Golden. She is survived by a daughter, Marlene (John) Lee; granddaughters, Sandy (LaVon) Hammond, Tammy (Tex) Ramey and Pam (Ricky) Crook; great grandchildren, Justin (Katy) Ramey and Monica Hammond; sister, Beulah Mae Murphree; brother-in-law, Dwight (Libby) Golden; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Celebration of her life will be held at Dixon Chapel at North Cleveland Church of God on January 8, 2015 at 7:00. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 prior to the service. A private graveside service will be held at Fort Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Ladies Prayer and Praise ministry at North Cleveland Church of God, 335 11th Street, Cleveland, TN 37311 or Sack pack Ministry of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 3405 Peerless Road, Cleveland, TN 37312.
