Glenn Wayne Towns

Glenn Wayne Towns of Charleston, TN went home to be with the Lord early June 26th, 2018. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church for over 36 years where he played the drums, taught Sunday school, was a trustee and many other things. Glenn was a dedicated man of God and faithful in all his ways. Glenn married Cathy Jenkins (Towns) on May 25th 1979. They have two children, Nathan and Jason (Starla) of Charleston, TN. They have one biological grandchild, Dawson Towns and 5 step grandchildren. Glenn is preceded in death by his father, Glenn Clayton; mother Lula Mae Towns; sisters, Mary Sue White and Patsy Parks, and two step grandchildren. Glenn worked at Whirlpool for 40 years and volunteered at Charleston, Eureka, and Meigs County Volunteer fire department for over 30 years. Glenn was a true servant of God and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He played drums for several Gospel groups.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday June the 29th from 5pm to 7pm at Center Point Baptist church, 1205 Lower River Rd NW Charleston, Tennessee 37310. Celebration of life service will be held at 1pm on Saturday June 30th at the church, the family will also receive friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow after the service at the church cemetery.
