Glen Ramsey

May 10, 1937 — October 11, 2024

Glen Everett Ramsey, 87, of Cleveland passed away at his home on October 11, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orlando Eugene Ramsey and Pauline Haun Ramsey, brothers Gene Ramsey and Don Ramsey, and son-in-law, David Landrith.

Glen is survived by his wife of 62 years, Roberta Cate Ramsey, daughter, Jennifer Landrith Oliver (Jack) of Brentwood, TN and son, Larry Ramsey (Brenda) of Cleveland. Grandchildren Rachel Lorance (Rev. Stephen) of Winston Salem, NC; Rev. Samual Landrith (Katie) of Spring Hill, TN; Joshua Landrith of Nashville, TN; Will Ramsey (Katherine) of Mount Juliet, TN; Jake Ramsey (Ali) of Cleveland and Cana Kirksey (Brett) of Cleveland. Great grandchildren Crosby, Reynolds, Graham, Reece, Ryder, Baker, Eloise, Adi Beth, Colter and his namesake, Everett Glen. Sister, Martha Mynatt of Knoxville and brother, Wesley Ramsey of Cleveland, brother-in-law, Hugh Cate (Rickie), sisters-in-law Susan Tindal (Jim) and Elizabeth Lay.

For 40 years Glen owned and operated Ramsey Real Estate, during that time he served as an officer with the Board of Realtors, member of the Chamber of Commerce, and as a commissioner of the Cleveland Housing Authority. Glen was a life-long member of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. He served as a deacon for many years as well as on various committees and as a Sunday school teacher.

Glen accomplished much during his years, but when he gave his life to the Lord at 9 years old, he said it was the most important decision of this life. He served faithfully in his church , in his community and in his home. To know Glen was to love him and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 16 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church chapel, with the funeral at 12:00 PM; followed by a graveside service at Candies Creek Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to Glen's great granddaughter, Eloise Harper Ramsey, who was born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) and is undergoing treatment and surgeries, through GoFundMe at https://gofund.me/036990cf.
