Glen D. Farnsworth

Obituary
Pastor Glen D. Farnsworth, who pastored the Cookeville and Crossville Seventh-day Adventist Churches in the early 80's, as well as several SDA churches across the nation in his 46 years of pastoring, will be remembered in a Memorial celebration of his life Saturday, July 27, 2:30 pm. at the Cookeville SDA Church, 2700 Hwy. 111, Algood, TN.
Glen was born March 7, 1927 in Noble, Oklahoma to Velmer and Odessa Farnsworth. Glen’s higher education, at Southwestern Junior College, Keene, TX, was interrupted while he served in the Army, stationed in S.Korea. He went on to complete his education at Union College, Lincoln, Nebraska, and married E. Charlene Ewing, (who passed to her rest in 2004 after 49 yrs. of marriage). After taking "early" retirement at age 72, Glen was called back into action to pastor the little Chapel Valley Church in the woods of southwest Arkansas until he finally retired in 2009.
In May of 2005, Glen "discovered" Widow Blanche Orser, (then employed by a hospital of the Adventist Health System in northern California) on the church's Christian Singles site. They married Aug. 7, 2005. He has been an active member of the Cookeville SDA Church since moving back to Tennessee in 2009, and was still teaching a Sabbath School class, greeting visitors with a friendly handshake and his wonderful smile, and sometimes even a fun or interesting story! Glen passed to his rest on July 16, 2013. He leaves his wife of 8 years, Blanche, of Sparta, TN; children, G. Randall Farnsworth (& Shelly) of Collegedale, TN, Cynthia C. Higgins (& Ed), previously of Crossville; now of Savannah, Georgia; and grandchildren, Joshua and Maci Farnsworth, of Collegedale, TN. All that knew and loved him are feeling the great loss.
