Gladys Swisher

Gladys Josephine Swisher, 79, of Ten Mile, TN, passed away on May 21, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on April 25, 1945 in Toledo, OH to the late Fred and Wilma (Hicks) Greer.

She loved to travel, spend time with family and friends and working puzzles.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Sigler Harris and Clarence Sigler (Birth mother and father Wilma and Fred Greer; husband, Robert "Bob" Swisher (widowed after 9 years of marriage); spouse of 38 years, Roscoe "Butch" Fortner; brother, Joseph Greer and her dog, Chopper.

She is survived by her six children, Robert Swisher (Rhonda), Rhonda Taylor (Christopher), Todd Swisher (Whitnee); Demetrius Swisher, Tasha Cahoon (Adrian), Rosza Branson (John); siblings, Willie Heater, Joann Delong, Beverly Lemerand, Jack Sigler; 22 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Companion Funeral & Cremation Services, 400 S. White St., Athens, TN 37303 with visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.
