Obituary
Geraldine “Jerri” Overby Cox, 75, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Friday morning, December 6th, 2013. Jerri was born on September 20th, 1938 a daughter of the late Tim and Ruby Overby. She was of the Christian faith. Jerri enjoyed gardening and was a loving and devoted homemaker working along the side of her late husband.
In addition to her parents Jerri is preceded in death by her husband Ronnie Cox, and five brothers T. J. Overby, Lester “Billy” Overby, Harlen Overby, Bobby Overby and Billy Overby.
Jerri is survived by three sons Gary Cox, Alan Cox and Michael Cox, one daughter Lynn Cox, one sister Ona Lee Lawson, one brother and his wife Jimmy & Diane Overby of Conyers, GA, a lifelong friend Brenda Clabough, four grandchildren and numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A memorial gathering to celebrate her life is planned for Thursday night, December 12th, 2013 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pearney’s Place located at 2206 Dalton Pike in Cleveland, TN.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made in Jerri’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
