Gerald Louis Mizell

Gerald Louis Mizell, 72, of Cleveland, TN passed away on August 15, 2021. He was born on December 31, 1948 in Bogalusa, LA. Gerald was an electrician by trade, working for Bowater in Charleston, TN. He loved woodworking, growing tomatoes, and was a coffee connoisseur. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian Olivia Mizell and James Caldwell Mizell. and his mother, Doris “Jerry” Mizell Quine-who passed just one day after him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 40 years, Debbie Mizell; children: Jonathan (Kim), Gerald, Chris (Meredith), and Jennifer Chesnut (Nick); mom Doris “Jerry” Mizell Quine-who passed just one day after him; grandchildren: Piper, Corey, and Dylan Chesnut, Morgan, Mikayla, Macie, Coleston and Amelia Mizell, and Nicholas Chalcas; siblings: Doug Mizell (Clara), Jim Mizell (Allison), Johnny Mizell, Dianne Webb (Ken), Becky Gregory (Greg), and Donna Mason. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jerry’s family will receive friends from 5pm until 8pm on Friday August 20, 2021 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church located at 3405 NW Peerless Road, where those in attendance can pay their respects to Jerry and his mom, Doris “Jerry”. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at 1pm on Sunday August 22, 2021 in the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home with burial to follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in Turtletown, TN. There will be one hour of visitation prior to his service on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to SPCA of Bradley County https://www.spcabctn.org
