Georgia Casteel Large

Georgia Jo Casteel Large, a McMinn county native and resident of Athens and Loudon, TN passed to her heavenly home Monday April 1, 2024. She was 80. She was born in McMinn county and was the daughter of Edgar Mac Casteel and Pearl Moore Casteel.

She was the sister of the late James Casteel (Charlotte), Margaret Holt (David), Sue Womac (Eugene), Mae Casteel, Faye Fain (Lee), Frances Bennett (Buddy), William Casteel (Chris) and Doris Casteel.

Georgia spent her life as a caretaker for children and the elderly. She was a resident at River Oaks assisted living in Louden for the last few years where she had many friends.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Georgia's family will recieve friends from 3pm until 5pm on Thursday April 4th at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held at 5pm at the funeral home with Rev. Stanley Liner officiating. She will be laid to rest following the service at Calhoun Cemetery.
