George Monroe Stewart, 81, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Friday morning, August 25th, 2017 at his home. George was born on March 7th, 1936 the oldest son of the late Wade & Rethal Stewart. He was a retired union carpenter. George was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed riding motor cycles.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter Janice Brackett, one sister Eugenia Roberson and two brothers Doug Stewart and Jerry Stewart.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory one daughter Jennifer Stewart of Loudon County, TN and one son Roger Stewart and his wife Dawn, one son in law David Brackett, one sister Carolyn Cartwright (Blaine), three grandchildren Patrick Stewart (Erica), Morgan Trowell (Nik) and Carson Brakett, special friend Brenda Ray.
The family will receive friends on Sunday night, August 27th, 2015 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the funeral home parlor. A celebration of his life is planned for Monday, August 28th, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Doyle McCracken officiaiting. Interment will follow in the Lebannon Baptist Cemetery and will conclude with military honors. Patrick Stewart, David Brackett, Carson Brakett, Ricky Roberson, Lamar Howard and Mike McDaniel will serve as pallbearers.
