George H. Farmer Jr., 67, of Decatur, TN, was of the Baptist faith and went home to be with his Heavenly Father on December 30,2018, at his residence. He retired from Shaw Industries in Decatur, TN after 40 years of service. He had a passion for Fishing, Boating, camping and a crackling camp fire. He took great pleasure and joy in doing these with his wife Susan, their children, and grandchildren.
He was an amazing, loving, and devoted husband, a great dad, and an awesome papaw.
He is preceded in death by his parents; George (Mary) Farmer Sr., Brother and sister in-law; David (Brenda) Farmer, Brother in-laws; Jimmy Flowers, Larry Goines, and Robert Stubblefield.
He is survived by his wife; Susan Farmer of 31 years, sons; Reno Farmer of Decatur, Quentin Farmer of Spring City, Adam Farmer of Cleveland, and Jeremy (Jessica) Farmer of Cleveland, daughters; Sylvia (Shane) Wyman of Culpepper, VA, Star (Jason “Jug Head”) Miller of Decatur, brothers; Jimmy (Betty) Brown of Decatur, Dean (Debbie) Brown of Cleveland, Dale (Carolyn) Farmer of Benton, sisters; Patsy Flowers of Ten Mile, Evelyn Goines of Decatur, Phyllis (Jim) Laws of Ten Mile, and Johnnie Johnson of Athens, brothers in-laws; Tony Hunter of Decatur, Donnie Hunter of Athens, sister in-law; Karen Stubblefield of Rock Springs, 11 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews
A graveside service is planned for Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Walnut Grove Cemetery with the Reverend Earl Graves officiating.
