Geneva Harris Brock, a loving and kind woman, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023, in her hometown of Athens, Tennessee. Born on January 13, 1934, to the late Calvin and Lyda Harris, Geneva spent her 89 years enriching the lives of those around her with her warmth and generosity.
Geneva was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 48 years, Henry Lee Brock, her parents, Calvin and Lyda Harris, and her sister, Mildred Hickman. She is survived by her loving son, Mike (Sherri) Brock, her sister, Blanche Sheffey, her grandchildren, Jonathon (Amy) Brock, Kourtney (James Rowland) Brock, Megan (Josh Oetting) Dingess, and Brandon (Alyssa) Dingess, and her cherished great-grandchildren, Hadlee Dingess, Harper Dingess, and McKinley Oetting.
Throughout her life, Geneva was an avid sports fan, always cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers with enthusiasm. She found solace and relaxation in quilting, creating beautiful works of art that will be treasured by her family for generations to come. Geneva also enjoyed reading, often losing herself in the pages of a good book, and she was known to spend hours working on crossword puzzles, challenging her mind and keeping her sharp.
Above all, Geneva's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She was a pillar of strength and support for those she loved, always offering a listening ear and a warm embrace. Her home was a welcoming haven, filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of her delicious home-cooked meals. Geneva's legacy of love will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of NHC of Athens for their compassion and care.
