Gene R. Capps aka Geno, of Cleveland TN, entered into God’s kingdom unexpectedly on April 29, 2022. Gene was only 43 years old. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by Gene’s sudden death.
Born December 16, 1978 to Josephine Betancourt and Rick Capps in Fort Polk, Louisiana.
Gene was loved by everyone who knew him and he knew everyone! He was often called a gentle giant or big teddy bear. He loved his friends and family and would drop everything no matter what time of day to help anyone who needed help. He was an avid music fan. His favorite teams were the Buccaneers and Gators. He had given his life to the Lord, was baptized and actively served at Wounded Healers Ministries in Cleveland Tennessee.
Gene may have had some struggles, but lived life to the fullest. He loved his family and friends, music, concerts, and adventures with friends and family. He would do anything for his friends and loved fiercely. He made everyone who knew him laugh, cry, and clap at all the stories he shared and his goofiness. One of the kindest souls on this planet, Gene was a gentle, giving man who would give you the shirt off his back and even the shoes off his feet. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. He was a big goofy guy that loved with all his heart and loved like Christ.
Gene Capps is survived by his mother Josephine Betancourt of Tennessee; his father Rick Capps of Florida; brothers Michael Betancourt of Tennessee, and Matt LaRue of Florida; daughters Tesla Capps, Cheyenne Phillips, Carolyn Morales, Pamela Sledge, Kimberly Carter, Trinity Diaz, Faith Diaz and sons Tony Delgado and Alex Diaz; grandmother Doris Capps of Florida; 16 grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and a countless number of friends near and far.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on May 16, 2022, 7:00 pm at Wounded Healers Ministries in the chapel located at 4995 N. Lee Highway, Cleveland TN Pastor Jeannie Hart will officiate.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the family to help with expenses. Michael Betancourt is the family administrator.
Do not feel guilty for living
Although I have passed away
Keep smiling, laughing and playing
And do this every day
Until we meet again!
