Gene Leroy Inslee, 89, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away peacefully on Saturday February 13. 2021 at his home. He was born in Cozad, Nebraska on September 15, 1931 a son of the late Lloyd & Jane Inslee. He was an honorably discharge veteran of the United States Air Force. Gene was a talented man and had various occupations throughout his lifetime. His most rewarding was being a chef in Paris. He was also an also an air traffic controller and taught culinary arts in a local high school. Gene and his late wife were worldwide travelers.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Lorene Inslee.
Gene leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Catherine Inslee Benedix Decaro of Fairbanks, Alaska, one son Christopher Andrew Inslee Benedix of Quincy, California, two grandsons Collin Decaro and Spencer Decaro, two granddaughters Alyssa Decaro and Sean Benedix, several nieces, nephew, other extended family members and a host of special friends.
There will be a visitation on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN. A Funeral Mass will be conducted on Monday, February 22. 2021 at 11:00 AM at the St. Therese Catholic Church with Father Mike Nolen officiating. His remains will be placed in the columbarium at St. Therese Catholic church with his late wife Lorene following the services. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on the funeral home Facebook page as well as his memorial webpage.
