A devoted NASCAR fan, he always enjoyed the thrill of the race. Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Gary never missed an opportunity to lighten the mood with a joke or a clever remark.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Bill Wingfield and Martha Henegar.

He is also survived by his six siblings: Tonia Zwack (David), Selina Elrod, Kim Wingfield, James Elrod (Windy), Darrel (Bubba) Wingfield, and Shaun Gibson (Jessica), who will all miss his spirited, jokester personality and big heart.
A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Eastwood Baptist Church, 4300 Ooltewah Ringgold Rd, Ooltewah, TN 37363.
