Obituary
Gary Ellis went to be with the lord and loved ones who preceded him onto glory on December 14, 2014. He was with Family and loved ones and at peace with his savior Jesus Christ.
Gary touched the lives of many people in a positive, compassionate manner. He was a member of Elkmont Baptist Church. Gary was an accomplished business man, owner and operator of Masterbend Muffler & Brake Shop for forty two years, entrepreneur, and drag racer, recognized nationwide for his accomplishments in NHRA and IHRA competition, yet he remained a modest and humble working man.
A proud Marine Corps veteran, he is survived by, and forever remembered by, wife Glenda, son Gary II, grandchildren: Brandon, Tanner, Lauren, Brandon; great granddaughter Saylor, several nieces, cousins, and many close friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father: Berley and Velma Ellis; two sons: Mark and Alan Ellis and three sisters: Sondra Lea, Brenda Sparks, and Linda Ogle.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital located at 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
A graveside service is planned for Wednesday, December 17th, 2014 at 2:30 PM at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Johnny Hood officiating. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 1:30 PM R.L. Queen, Terry Marr, Matt Dillard, Brandon Ellis, Tanner Ellis, and Bud Holmes will be serving as pallbearers. Ronnie Harris, Alvin Howard, and Dr. Harrison Sims are serving as honorary pallbearers.
