Garry Shields

Garry L. Shields, 59, a lifelong resident of Old Fort, TN passed away on Thursday evening, November 9, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was a son of the late W. C. "Dub" and Mary Ruth Prince Shields Rogers. Garry worked for many years with his brother Jerry doing backhoe work in the construction industry. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycle riding, listening to Gospel Music to name a few, but most of all loved spending time with family.

In addition to his parents, Garry is also preceded in death by his stepfather Roy Rogers, two brothers Jerry & Terry Shields, one sister Loretta Shelton, grandparents Russell Lee Prince & Lavisha Prince and Genny Craig Shields and Walter Shields, one uncle Reverend Doyle Prince (Patsy) and two aunts Ella Jean Shields and Josephine Swaggerty.

Garry leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife and best friend Rhonda Cross Shields, one son Christopher Shields, one granddaughter Cayci Shields, stepson Jonathan Sutton (Brittney), mother-in-law Joyce Fowler, three sisters in laws Kathy Fowler, Sheila Shields, Pam Brooking, two brother in laws Bobby Cross (Shelly) and Emory Shelton, several nieces and nephews he loved dearly, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 13, 2023, in the parlor of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road in Cleveland TN from 11:00 AM until 1:30 PM. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Moore's Chapel Cemetery with the Reverend Guinn Green and the Reverend Roger Stepp officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
