Gale Loicen Gabbert, 86, a resident of Ooltewah, TN, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at his home. He was born in Grant City, Missouri on May 8, 1931 to the late Dale & Iris Wood Gabbert. Gale was a member of the Collegedale Seventh-day Adventist Church. He loved flowers, gardening, real estate and visiting with friends and family. He worked for 39 years as a Pastor and Stewardship Director for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Maryland, Oregon, Ohio, Virginia, Michigan, Texas and Georgia.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Eula May Lindquist Gabbert; children: Teresa Dorn (Randy), Dennis Gabbert (Rhea), Brenda Theus (Ted); Grandchildren: Ashley Lucas (Jeff), Christina Howard (Jon), Brandon Dorn, Jacob Gabbert, Andrew Theus (Bethany), Caroline Theus; brother: Delbert Gabbert (Carol), three sisters: Joyce Smetzer, Sharon Foster (Allen), Nelda Reynolds (Les). In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his brothers Keith Gabbert, Berniel Gabbert, Royce Gabbert and John Gabbert.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 2:00pm on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Collegedale, TN Seventh-day Adventist Church. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm following the visitation, with Pastor David Smith officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Learning Tree Elementary School Sponsorship Fund, 300 South Tibbs Road, Dalton, GA 30720.
