Fred A. O'Neal

Fred A. O’Neal, 69, a resident of Athens, TN passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 in a local hospital. He was born on August 7, 1950 in Bristol, VA a son of the late Roy & Mary Lee O’Neal. He was known by many as “The Produce Man”.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters Betty Houser and Peggy White and three brothers Roy, Bobby & Jimmy O’Neal.
Fred leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 45 years Mary O’Neal, four children Brandy Duncan (John), Kelly McDaniel (Jeff), Mandy Winkler and Michael Smith, two sisters Salma Fletchall and Caroline Landers, one brother David O’Neal, eight grandchildren Josh, Brandon, Nicki, Cheyanne, Ryan, Melanie, Sara and Mathew, numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
The family will have a memorial gathering on Monday, February 3, 2020 from 6-8 PM in the Fellowship Hall of the New Zion Baptist Church located at 393 CR 616 in Athens. In lie of flowers, that family asks that any memorial donations be made to his wife Mary.
