Frank Walton

December 24, 1930 — April 7, 2024

Frank Walton, 93 of Ooltewah, TN met his Lord and Savior face to face on April 7, 2024. He was born December 24, 1930, one of 5 sons, to Hugh Earl & Lelia Walton from Salem, VA.

He moved to Floyd County, VA when he was 5 years old where he enjoyed many happy times
growing up. At the age of 17 Frank joined the US Navy and retired as Chief after 30 years. Following his military separation, he was employed by the US Postal Service for 20 years. In his later years, he continued serving his community through the Chattanooga Parks & Recreation Dept. as a groundskeeper at the iconic Tennessee Riverpark.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Peggy Ann Goens. Also survived by daughter Stephanie Wilson; one grandson, Brandon (Lora) Wilson; brother Thomas (Betty) Walton of Salem, VA. Also, survived by his special “furbaby”, Meiling.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh & Lelia (McNeil) Walton; Sister, Frances Shank; Brothers, Joe, Earl & Robert Walton; and Son-in-Law, Clarence Wilson.

Upon his request, Frank’s life was celebrated with a private family graveside service at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
