Obituary
Frank O. Harris Sr., 91, a resident of Cleveland, TN passed away on Sunday morning, February 24th, 2013 in a local hospital. Frank was born in Bogalusa, LA on October 20th, 1921, a son of the late George and Mallie Harris. Frank had made Cleveland his home since the early 1950’s. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served his country during World War II. Frank was of the Presbyterian faith. He was retired from the Bowater’s Southern Paper Corporation. Frank was avid reader, loved his farm, and being a grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Monita L. Harris.
Frank leaves behind to cherish his memory one daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Don Bowker, one son and daughter-in-law, Olin and Trish Harris of Mt. Juliet, TN, three grandchildren Kristin (Steve) Conley of Bell Buckle, TN, Patrick (Laurel) Bowker of Cleveland, and Amber (Jim) Farmer of Nashville, TN, one great granddaughter Jennie Kate Conley of Bell Buckle, TN. Also special friends, James and Linda Shelton and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Wednesday, February 27th, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church located 433 North Ocoee Street in Cleveland, TN with Dr. Joseph R. Tanner officiating. The family will receive friends in the church narthex on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the 1:00 PM service time.
A private interment will take place in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made in Frank’s memory to the Pat Summit Foundation for Alzheimer’s research.
