Frank Allen Bowen, age 74, of Coker Creek, passed away May, 5, 2022 after bravely battling cancer. He was a beloved husband to his wife, Diane, and father to his three children.
Frank was born in Tennessee on August 30, 1947 and moved to Ohio with his family during his childhood. He worked and retired as a long-time employee of UPS, after serving in the U.S. Army. Frank moved back to Tennessee with his own family in 1983 to be close to the mountains, lakes and rivers that he loved. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed “tinkering” in his workshop. He and Diane both volunteered at the Coker Creek Welcome Center and ran the shop next door. Frank was known to give to persons in need, rather than charging them.
Frank is survived by his wife, Diane Bowen of Coker Creek; daughter, Michelle Bowen of Knoxville; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Melissa Bowen of Madisonville; son and daughter-in-law Joseph and La’Shell Bowen of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren, Carly Lance, Noah Bowen, Autumn Bowen, Nathan Bowen, Gabriel Bowen, Lilianna Butler, and Christian Butler; brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg and Nancy Bowen of Ohio, and Roger and Jo Carol Bowen of Ohio; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Frank is preceded in death by his father, Frank Bowen; mother, Ellen Davis; brothers, Michael Bowen and Timothy Bowen.
Frank was well-loved and is already missed dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Frank’s memory.
