Flossie Ann Owenby Bettis

Flossie Owenby Bettis, age 87, departed this life on Tuesday morning, December 21, 2021. Born on August 13, 1934 to the late Dillard and Annie Wakefield Owenby, she was a native and lifelong resident of Bradley County and was a member of Big Spring Baptist Church. She loved reading and watching westerns and was employed for several years at Cameron’s Restaurant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Van “Corky” Bettis; and brothers, Ray Owenby and Stewart Owenby.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Bettis(Loretta); grandchildren, Jamie Goodwin(Nathan) and Corey Bettis(Tegan); great-grandchildren, Taylor Goodwin(Maggie), Shay Goodwin, and Lilly Davenport; great-great grandchild, Brantley Goodwin; sisters, Vicki Ogle, Judy Phillips, and Ina Sue Anderson; brother, Dewey Owenby; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Flossie Ann Owenby Bettis will be held at 2p.m. Thursday, December 23, 2021 from the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home with Chuck DeFriese officiating. Interment will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens.
The family with receive friends from 12 noon until the funeral hour on Thursday.
