Florence Hazel Underwood Pettitt

Florence Hazel Underwood Pettitt age 95 of Athens, TN passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at NHC Healthcare of Athens. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was of the Baptist Faith. She was a daughter of the late Homer W. Underwood and Edith Self Underwood.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Billy Gene Pettitt, daughter Beverly Carol Underwood, son Jerry Michael Underwood, special granddaughter Angela Underwood, two sisters Stella Underwood and Voncil Underwood Miller, and three brothers Clarence Ray Underwood, Charles Maynard Underwood and Donald Gaylord Underwood.
She is survived by two sons Lanny Underwood of Etowah and Les Underwood of Atlanta, GA, daughter in law Sheryl Underwood of Englewood, three sisters in law Dot Underwood of Athens, Mamie Underwood of Delano and Brenda Underwood of Sweetwater, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service is planned for Thursday, July 5, at 1:00 PM in the Cedar Grove Cemetery with Lanny Underwood, Tony Underwood, John Malone, Steve Patterson, Terry Underwood and Tracy Underwood serving as pallbearers. The family will have a private viewing at the funeral home one hour prior to the graveside.
