Johnie Botts

Johnie Faye Botts, 87, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2024. Johnie was born on July 21, 1936, in Greasy Creek, Tennessee to the late Robert Loften McGehee and Alberta Boring McGehee. She was a longtime member of Waterville Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, canning, and being a caregiver to her mother. Faye was a 1955 graduate of Bradley Central High School. In her later years she worked at CPQ until her retirement. She was always well known by many for her famous chocolate cake and Chocolate Gravy. Faye was a devoted mother, and grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Wendell Botts; sister, Marie Lea; and her brother, Larry McGehee.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Terry (Mary Beth) Botts, and Karen Botts; grandchildren, Kayla (Brandon) Flowers, Amber (Nathan) Stallings, Allison Botts, and Jessica Pankey; her great grandchildren, Bradden Flowers, Skylar Flowers, and Annlea Flowers; her brother, Jim McGehee brother in law, John Lea; nieces, Brenda Davis, and Crystal Walkup; her caregiver, Joan Ferris; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brookdale Senior Living and Adoration Hospice for their special care during this time.

A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Waterville Baptist Church with Pastor Allen Lovelace, and Chaplain Adam Jones officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service is to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Tommy Woodall, Nathan Stallings, Caleb Tinsley, Brandon Flowers, Bradden Flowers, Mark Walkup, and Conner Tinsley serving as pallbearers.
