Eviadene Douglas Shackelford

Eviadene Douglas Shackelford took up permanent residence in Heaven on September 19, 2020. Eviadene was born on January 6, 1929 in Chattanooga, TN to Julia Ann Shirley Douglas Beene Lofty and Joseph Daniel Douglas. While working at DuPont as a lab analyst, she met her future husband James “Bob” Shackelford. They were married on September 3, 1958 and raised two children, James and Lisa. Eviadene loved boating, dancing, gardening, quilting, sunbathing, and thrifting. Everyone who met Eviadene fell in love with her and thought she was absolutely beautiful inside and out. She could light up a room with her beautiful smile and clear blue eyes. She will be sincerely missed by friends and family.
Eviadene was preceded in death by her mother and father; her brother Joseph Daniel Douglas, Jr. and sister-in-law Margie; and niece Letetia Kay Douglas. She is survived by her beloved husband, Bob; son James (Debbie); daughter Lisa (Gary) Hardy; two granddaughters, Keri and Lochlyn; brother Johnny (Sharon) Douglas; nieces Kathy Douglas-Tierney, Bakersfield, CA and Mary Douglas-Leonard, Glendale, AZ; and nephews Dan Douglas, Glendale, CA; Steve Douglas, Simi Valley, CA; and Scott Douglas, Kissimmee, FL.

Arrangements are by Companion Funeral & Cremation Services in Cleveland, TN, and a private ceremony will be held Wednesday, September 23 at 1 pm.
