Evelyn R. Adams

Obituary
Evelyn R Adams, 84, of Cleveland, TN passed away on Tuesday July 2, 2013 at a local healthcare facility. She was born on October 8, 1928 to the late Dr. and Mrs. Horace C. Ray. Evelyn had been a resident of Cleveland for more than sixty years. She was an active member of the Cleveland Golf and Country Club ladies golf association, an avid bridge player, and had a love for reading and watching sports. Evelyn also loved to travel with her husband. Above all else she was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her mother and father, Evelyn is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Dr. Jack Adams.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her two children: Mark R. Adams (Mary Ann), Courtney A. Phillips (Max), grandchildren: Caroline Adams, Sarah Adams, Sloane Cogdill (James), Taylor Phillips, and one special friend: Ric Tinsley. In addition to these she leaves behind several extended family members and good friends.
The family will receive friends on Monday July 8, 2013 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church located at 320 Broad Street NW, Cleveland, TN 37311 from 12:00pm-2:00pm with a memorial service at 2:00pm at the church.
In lieu of flowers please send memorials in Evelyn’s name to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church or the Cleveland Public Library.
