Evelyn June Davis Duggan

Evelyn June Davis Duggan, 86, of Etowah, TN passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County. She retired from 28 years of service from Harrods Thrift Market and Bakery in Athens, TN, where she was baker and decorator. Her and her husband Harold owned the Duggans Cafeteria, in Englewood, TN. and the A & H Cafeteria in Etowah, TN. In the 80’s they owned a Fast Freight Company based out of Etowah that were shippers throughout North GA and SouthEast TN. They owned a very successful HVAC company in the 80’s and early 90’s. June also ran a successful catering business called, “Lovin from the Oven”. June was a founding member of the Woodward Ave Church of God in Athens, TN. She was dearly loved by all that knew her.
She was proceeded in death by her husband of 51 years, William Harold Duggan; mother and step father Carmel and Lois Passmore, Father Herschell Davis; brothers Danny Passmore and Harold “Doc” Davis.
Survivors include: Children and Spouses, Russ and Carolyn Duggan, Pam Duggan, Robin and Rick Bennett; Grandchildren, Jennifer and Jonathan Schneider, Andy Duggan, McKenzie Bennett, Morgan Bennett Bray, Alexis McCosh; Great-Grandchildren, Kendall Nicole McCosh and Eloise May Bray. Sisters, Alexandria Lake, Carolyn Smith; Brothers and Sister-in-laws, Bill and Chris Passmore, David and Kimberly Passmore; Sister-in-law, Norma Wadsworth; Brother-in-laws, Larry Duggan and the late Judy Duggan, Allen and Pam Varnell Duggan; and many, many more loving nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends in the Sanctuary at Woodward Ave. Church of God, Monday, June 20, 2022 from 5:00p.m. – 6:45p.m. Prelude Music 6:45p.m. Celebration of Life immediately following @ 7:00p.m. with Dr. Herschell Baker, Dr. Christopher Thomas, Bishop Clifford Waters, Bishop Edwin Lipsey, and Pat Bradbury, officiating. The family welcomes anyone wishing to participate in a celebration choir to join in at the service.
Family and Friends will assemble at 10:30a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2022 @ Companion Funeral Home: 400 South White Street; Athens, TN 37303. There will be a processional to pass the Woodward Church of God and conclude at the Cedar Grove Cemetery for the 11:00a.m. Committal Service, officiated by Dr. Herschell Baker and Dr. Christopher Thomas.
Pallbearers include Preston Moser, Marvin Kelley, Randy Carter, Andrew Hill, Tom Sawyer, Dennis Rutland, Arnold Sledge, David Haney and Johnny Lipps. Honorary Pallbearers: Woodward Church of God Keenagers.
