Eva Smith

Eva Sue Smith, 93, a lifelong resident of Cleveland, TN entered the gates of Heaven on May 14, 2025. She was known by many as Momma Sue. She was the lead singer and founder of The Christian Gospelaires. She touched many people's lives ministering the Word through song with her most requested song, "Ain't no Grave." She touched everyone's life she encountered whether it be through prayer, a laugh, or a kind word. She was a member of Revival Church of God.

She is preceded in death by her parents James & Martha Durham; sons Roger, Donald, Gary, Calvin, and Steve Smith, all of her siblilngs; grandson Adam Smith; son-in-laws Mike Browder, Kenny Newton, and great grandson Devin Smith.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving and devoted husband, Carroll "Red" Smith; daughers Judy Carter (Allen) and Tammy Browder; grandchildren: Roger, Amanda, Shannon, Chad, and Brad Smith, Heather Nicholson, Brittany Raines, and David Ledford; many great and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Eva's life will be held at 3pm on Saturday May 17th at the "Ridge Sanctuary" of Companion Funeral Home Located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. Her family will receive friends from 12pm until 3pm prior to the service. Pastor Jason Ollis will be officiating and Eva will be laid to rest following her service at Lee Cemetery.
