Ernest Tipton Davis

Ernest Tipton Davis, 86, a lifelong resident of the McDonald, TN area passed away on Saturday night, July 13, 2019. He was born in Lakeview, Georgia on November 12, 1932 a son of the late Hugh & Emily Davis. He was of the Christian faith. Ernest was retired from the Bendix Corporation. He was a simple man who enjoyed spending time with his family and eating fried apple pies.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son Dewayne Davis, twin grandsons Aaron & Andrew Davis, two sisters Cora Rue and Joyce Price and three brothers Harvey Davis, Edward Davis and James Davis.
Ernest leaves behind to cherish his memory one daughter Sheila Elrod and her husband Jerry, two sons Dale Davis and his wife Cyndie and Darryl Davis, the mother of his children and best friend Clara Davis, three grandchildren Brad Davis (Lou), Keisha Baker and Zachary Davis, four great grandchildren twins Sam & Eli Davis, Pendell Davis and Lucianna Davis, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, July 17, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Steven Taylor and the Reverend Donald Weaver officiating. Interment will follow in the Lee Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
