Ernest Mckinley Lasley Jr.

Ernest McKinley Lasley Jr., 73, passed away on March 16, 2020. He was born on October 29, 1945. He loved the beach, and playing sports. Ernest also spent many years coaching softball for his daughters.

He is preceded in death by his mother Minnie Lee Smith.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory the love of his life, Diane Lasley; his two daughters: Lana DeVaney (Tim) and Lisa Harper; father Ernest McKinley Lasley Sr.; siblings: Joe Smith (Paula) and Barbara Sue Terry; grandchildren: Adrienne Zingrich, McKinley Randall, and Wesley DeVaney. He is also survived by his soon to be 1st Great Grandchild: “Baby Z.” coming within the month. In addition to these, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 3:00pm on Friday March 20, 2020 at the Athens Chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street, Athens, TN 37303. A celebration of Ernest’s life will be held at 3:00pm following visitation.
