Ernest Beattie Gray

Ernest Beattie Gray, 82, of Birchwood, TN passed away on November 21, 2017. He was born on August 28, 1935 to the late Glenn and Glennie Gray. Ernest was a lifelong resident of this area. He loved woodworking, hunting, fishing, and racing cars.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Glen J.R. Gray, Marvin Gray, Franklin D. Gray; sisters Pearl Cantrell, Leona Howard, Betty Martin, and Pauline Lewis.

He leaves behind to cheirsh his memory three sons: Michael Wayne Gray (Melissa), Doyle Lynn Gray, (Tammy), Keith Gray (Gina); daughters: Peggy Cooper (Rex), Wilma Boggs (Buddy), Rhonda Gray; grandchildren: Steven Cooper, Stephanie Frank, Christopher Johnson, Josh Colton Gray, Emily Shyenne Gray, Lucas Boggs, Makenna Gray, Leslie Gray, Milia Gray, Alyssa Gray, and Dominic Gray; six great grandchildren. In addition to these, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

The family will recieve friends from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday November 26, 2017 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am on Monday November 27, 2017 at Companion with interment to follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery at 12:00pm with Charlie Massengill, Timmy Williams, Doyle Gray, Shyenne Gray, Guy Johnson, Ricky Gray and George Ford serving as pallbearers.
