On Tuesday, January 19, 2021, Ella Mae Carson “Nana” to her children and “Snook” to her family, joined her family in Heaven at age 80. She was born on May 9, 1940 in Cleveland, TN. Other than 5 years in Georgia and California, she lived her whole life serving the Lord in Cleveland. For over 53 years, Nana was an active member of South Cleveland Church of God and a faithful member of the choir. She served on the women’s board and headed up the bereavement team. She had a servant’s heart and never failed to minister where she could.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dennis Carson, parents Muriel and James A. Coffey and brothers Jimmy, Jack and Larry “Bud” Coffey.
Ella Mae is survived by two daughters, Wendy Seaborn (Arden Seaborn) and Amber Howell (Matt Howell). She has four grandchildren, Aeriel Clukey (Steven Clukey), Landon Seaborn (Hannah Seaborn), Raffe Howell, and Tessa Howell; and great-grandson, Oliver Clukey. She is also survived by three sisters; Faye Day of Catoosa, OK, Wanda Mangus of Burlington, CO, Barbra McCune of Akron, CO; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 23rd at South Cleveland Church of God with the service immediately following. Funeral services will be at South Cleveland Church of God with Reverend Edwin Lipsey and Reverend Chris Moody officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens’ Meditation Chapel with Landon Seaborn, Raffe Howell, Steven Clukey, Rodney Williams, Josh Lane, and Nathan Sherlin serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ella Mae’s memory to Royal Family Kids Camp at South Cleveland Church of God. 1846 Volunteer Drive SW, Cleveland, TN 37311(southcleveland.org).
