Edward Thomas Raines, Sr.

Edward Thomas Raines, Sr., 65, a longtime resident of Hixson, TN passed away on Friday, July 5, 2019 at his residence in Hixson, TN. Eddie was a faithful member of Delashmitt Road Baptist Church for many years. He worked at Eastside Utility District in Chattanooga for over 34 and a half years. Eddie was a motorcycle enthusiast and road the Trail of Tears serval times. He loved hunting and fishing and just being outdoors in general, but most of all Eddie loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his father Thomas Raines; mother Katherine Raines; uncles William and Buck Reno and grandmother Inez Reno.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 48 years, Deborah Raines; son Edward Raines Jr. (Kim); daughters Renee Kelley and Charity Goulart (Brent); brother Richard Raines (Charlotte); grandchildren Avery Millsaps, Thomas Raines, Anna Raines, Scout Goulart, Josie Goulart, chosen grandchild Joshua Huffman and several nieces, nephews and other family members.
The family will receive friends and family from 2PM to 3PM with a celebration of life service to follow at 3PM at Delashmitt Road Baptist Church on Saturday, July 13, 2019 (4709 Delashmitt Rd, Red Bank, TN 37415). Rev. Ronnie Smith will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer society for Lymphoma research in the name of Edward T. Raines.
