Obituary
Edward Julian Parrott, 87, passed away at his residence August 20, 2014.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Parrott and Georgia Hightower Parrott, his wife, Shirley Parrott, one daughter, Cheryl Parrott, as well as 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
He is survived by two sisters, Florence Duckett and Sally Harkey, several nieces and nephews, and his caregivers, Gloria and Jimmy Hayes and their two sons, Shane and Tyson.
He was a resident of North Carolina for many years, but he had recently retired and moved back to his home state of Tennessee.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He loved Tennessee football. Edward was always a straight spoken person and he always "did it his way."
Special thanks to Lena Vaughn, Wilma Parrott, and nephew Keith Harkey who helped with his care in North Carolina; as well as a special thanks to those other family members who helped with his care and visited since he moved back to Tennessee.
There is a graveside memorial service planned for Friday, August 22, 2014, at 11:00 AM in Lee Cemetery off White Oak Valley Road. There will be a procession to the graveside which will leave at 10:30 AM from Companion Funeral Home, located at 2415 Georgetown Road NW.
