Edward Herman McKinney, 76, passed away to his Heavenly home on Thursday April 4, 2019. He was born on November 13, 1942 in Bradley County to John Jefferson McKinney and Ozella McKinney who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by three brothers: John Jefferson McKinney Jr., DB McKinney and Larry McKinney.
Edward spent 12.5 years in the Army beginning Basic Training in 1960 and excelled as a rifleman with several badges and accommodations. He was a Sargent at the time of discharge. During his Army years he enjoyed stock car racing. He was a CB radio enthusiast and went by (MAC). In 2001 he and a few friends formed the first Trevena School Reunion which was a great success.
He is survived by his wife Wilma Hawkins McKinney of Cleveland; children: Emanuel (Jeannie) Burrell, Ray McKinney of Texas, Mary (Basil) Nunley, Missy McKinney of Florida and sister Sue (Jack) Dooley. In addition to these she leaves behind many grandchildren and nephews. Please join the family for visitation at Companion and a celebration of his home going.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Monday April 8, 2019. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm. He will be buried at Lebanon Cemetery off Old Parksville following the service.
