Edna May Watson Brewer

May 12, 1924 — January 25, 2018

Edna May Watson Brewer, of Cleveland and a former resident of Polk County, age 93, died January 25, 2018. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Edna was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a retired employee of Cleveland City Schools and a life member of the Polk County Historical and Genealogy Society. She was preceeded in death by her husband, J.D. Brewer, parents Lee and Sally Goforth Watson and brothers, Lloyd “Bill,” George “Popeye,” Buford “Dick,” and Carrol “Chuck” Watson.
She is survived by daughters JoAnne Butters, Erma Brewer, and Linda (Joe) Coots. Grandchildren Robyn Monroe, Jay (Holly) Puryear and Chris Puryear. Step-grandson Joseph (Kim) Coots. Great grandchildren, Ben Natalie, and Zoe Monroe and Step great-grandchildren, Chase and Connor Coots. Several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Margaret Quinsberry for her devoted care.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Monday January 29th at Cookson Creek Cemetery. She requested that rather than flowers, donations in her memory be made to Polk County Historical & Genealogical Society, P.O. 636 Benton, TN 37307 or Bradley County Animal Shelter, 360 Hill St SE, Cleveland, TN 37312.
