Obituary


Edna Leise Christie, 88 a resident of Cleveland, TN died on Saturday night, April 26th, 2014 at her home. She was born in New York City, NY on April 7th, 1926 a daughter of the late Leo and Edna G. Leise. Edna relocated to Cleveland three years ago to be with her son from Kissimmee, Florida. She volunteered at Give Kids the World and had a love and passion for gardening which she used in being active in the Memorial garden at St. Luke & St. Peter's Episcopal Church in St. Cloud, Florida.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Duncan A. Christie, one daughter April Carroll two sisters Lillian Staniszewski and Dorothy Gupton and three brothers Fred Leise, Leo Leise and Bill Leise.

She is survived by her son Skip Christie and her adopted son Jimm Coffin, her special kitty "Boots", one son-in-law Wayne Carroll, several nieces, nephews, several other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A visitation in which the family will receive friends will be on Tuesday night, April 29th, 2014 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road in Cleveland, TN

A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, April 30th, 2014 at 2:00 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church located at 320 Broad Street in Cleveland TN with Father Joel Huffstetler officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the memorial garden at St. Luke & St. Peter's Episcopal Church in St. Cloud, Florida in Edna's memory.
