Edna Lazelle Hancock, 75, of Decatur, TN passed away on March 3, 2017. She was born on June 1, 1941 to the late Lawrence and Gertrude Waddell. Lazelle moved to Cleveland with her husband James in 1987. She was an active member of Prospect Church of God and a loving pastors and military wife to her husband James. Lazelle also served as a missionary to the Philippeans in addition to her service to the Church of God for 37 years.
In addition to her mother and father she is preceded in death by three brothers: Al Waddell, Herman Waddell, Samuel Waddell; sister Dorothy Earwood.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 53 years, James Hancock, sons Phillip Hancock and Michael Hancock (Jamie), brother Jessee Waddell (Linda); sisters: Chris Croft, Judy Rico (Billy) and Nancy Dowdle; grandchildren Michaela, Eli, and Abigail Hancock.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday March 6, 2017 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 7, 2017 at 11:00am at Prospect Church of God located at 2220 Harrison Pike, Cleveland, TN, 37311. Interment will take place at Forest Memorial Cemetery in Batesville, Mississippi on Wednesday March 8, 2017.
