Edith Ensley

Edith Lucille Martin Ensley (Lucille), age 80, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at home. She was born and grew up in Rose Hill, Virginia and attended nursing school at Radford College in Radford, Virginia. After nursing school, she moved to Cleveland, Tennessee, where she was married and raised her children.

She worked for over 30 years as a Registered Nurse at Bradley Memorial Hospital. She loved to cook, garden, and raise houseplants. She enjoyed spending time with children, watching old Westerns and crime dramas, and had a great fondness for cats. She was a woman of deep faith, spending time in prayer and reading her Bible. She often talked about how her faith in God sustained her. 

Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Laura Martin; her husband of 53 years, Tommy Ensley; her best friend of many years, Joann Hunt; siblings, Elmer Martin,

Rosebud Mustard, Wanda Wilder, J.T. Martin, and Irene Melvin. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, David Allen Ensley (Bobby Guy) and Jeff Ensley (Lisa); granddaughter, Allyson Ensley; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Ensley and Glenna McAllister; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends on Tuesday March 26th from 1pm until 2pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 2pm. Edith's son David will be officiating the service.
