Obituary
Eddie Young, 48, a lifelong resident of Old Fort, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, October 27, 2013. Eddie was born on February 28th, 1965 in Cleveland, TN a son of the Anna Lou Baxter. He graduated from Polk County High School in 1983. Eddie was a member of the South Cleveland Church of God where he was very active in the music department and church choir. He was a local hairdresser for over twenty five years and was a member of the Tennessee Hair Fashion Committee. Eddie enjoyed people and made everyone he was around feel special. Thru all his medical trials Eddie always kept a positive outlook and never wavered in his faith and trust in God.
In addition to his mother he is preceded in death dad James “Pops” Baxter and two brothers Michael and Chris Young.
Eddie leaves behind to cherish his memory two sisters Darlene Longley of Old Fort, TN and Darlene Baxter Cross (Lynn) of Cleveland, TN, one brother Terry Baxter of Old Fort, TN, father Willis Young and special nephew and caregiver Josh Peels. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Tuesday night, October 29th 2013 at 7:00 PM at the South Cleveland Church of God with the Reverend Chris Moody and the Reverend Brien Sturgiel officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 PM until the 7:00 PM service time.
Interment will take place on Wednesday morning, at 11:00 AM in the Red Hill Cemetery with John Miles, Bryan Carver, Eddie Miles, Jimmie Slone, Zach Cross, Patrick Cross, T. J. Baxter and Doug Carver serving as pallbearers. The funeral procession will leave South Cleveland Church of God on Wednesday morning at 10:30 AM.
