Dr. Reverend Ralph E. Rivers

Obituary
Dr. Reverend Ralph E. Rivers passed away on December 16, 2013 in Riceville, Tennessee. He was born February 17, 1940 to Ralph and Minnie Ruth Rivers in Lake Panasoffkee, Florida.
He married Sharon A. Rivers on January 1, 1988. He graduated from Coral Gables High School in Miami, Florida, and attended Florida State University, Mercer University, Emory University, and Candler School of Theology. He was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from Coral Ridge Bible College and Seminary. He served churches as pastor in Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee, and was currently serving at Mt. Olivet, Goodfield, and Mt. Carmel Churches.
He is survived by three children, Robin (Jeff) Benton of Monroe, North Carolina, Charles K. (Dona) Miller of Summerfield, Florida, and Jason (Nancy) Miller of Athens, Tennessee; Grandchildren; Amanda and Austin Cash, Tristan and Chloe Miller, Shelley and Travis Varnum and Allison Miller, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Brother Charlie (Iris) Rivers, sister Prudence Schubert, sister Martha (Sherman) Peiffer, and sister Robin (Jennings) Neeld, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Decatur, Tennessee on December 19, at 6:00 pm, and graveside services will be held at the Pine Level Cemetery in Oxford, Florida on December 21, 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your charity of choice.
