Dr. Paul Pascal Devivo

Obituary
Dr. Paul Pascal Devivo, 84, of Cleveland, TN passed away on July 16, 2015. He was born on January 3, 1931 to the late Claude and Louise Devivo. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in the Korean War. Paul was a member of the St. Martin's of Tours Episcopal Church in Chattanooga, TN. He enjoyed sailing, camping, traveling, and was an avid runner earlier in his life. Paul received his doctorate of Education from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Throughout his life he taught several levels of education from high school thru graduate courses. Paul developed the counseling program and served as its coordinator at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga until his retirement. Thru his employment at UTC along with volunteering with the CAPS program, homeless women's shelter, the Fortwood Center, Peer Training program, child abuse review team and the area Crisis Intervention groups Paul was able to give back to his community and help countless lives.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, and one daughter Karen Devivo.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 18 years, Patsy McCann Devivo; daughter Janice Hermes (Paul); son Anthony Devivo; stepsons Patrick Lawson (Cori) and Christopher Lawson; two sisters Anita Beckman and Norma Olbert (Stan) and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother in law Deedy McCann, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm on Sunday July 19, 2015 at Companion Funeral and Cremation Service located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-7:00pm prior to the service. Interment will be held at Hayes Shed Cemetery on Monday July 20, 2015 at 11:00 AM and will conclude with military honors to honor Paul's service to our country.
