Douglas Dwight "Doug" Freeman

Douglas Dwight “Doug” Freeman, 56, a resident of Riceville, TN passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Life Care Center of Athens. He was born on September 28, 1963 in Athens, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lewis & Iva Jean Freeman and two sisters Debbie Rogers and Donna Wood.
Doug leaves behind to cherish his memory one son Jason Freeman, one grandson Landon Pierce Freeman, three brothers Danny Freeman, Dale Freeman (Leah) and Billy Freeman, two sisters Dianne Hampton (Bill) and Beverly True (Robert), numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 4:00 PM in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street in Athens, TN with the Reverend Donnie Dalton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the 4:00 PM service time.
There will be a private family interment in the Tellico Cemetery at a later date.
