Dorothy Evelyn Gee

December 26, 1927 — January 15, 2020

Dorothy “Evelyn” Gee, 92, a lifelong resident of McMinn County passed away on Wednesday night, January 15, 2020 at her home in Riceville. She was a member of Eastanallee Baptist Church. Evelyn was born on December 26, 1927 in Riceville, TN as daughter of the late Luther and Lillie Godsey. She loved people especially children, reading and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John Joseph “Joe” Gee and one brother Luther Godsey Jr.
Evelyn leaves behind to cherish her memory one daughter Brenda Hiefnar and her husband Lewis, one son Johnny Gee and his wife Mary Catherine, two sisters Carolyn Archer and Lillie Ruth Raulerson, three grandchildren Chad Hiefnar (Jennifer), Carrie Teague (Daniel) and Jarrod Gee, two great grandchildren Maddie and Gunter, special friends Ella & Hazel Womac, Charlotte Smith and Ronnie & Norma Webb, numerous extended family members and a host of church family and friends.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Hearth Hospice for the excellent care they provided Dorothy and her family.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Eastanallee Baptist Church. A service celebrating her life will began at 3:00 PM at the church with the Reverend Mike Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastanallee Baptist Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
